Second Sunday of Easter C, April 3, 2016

Acts 5: 27-32
Psalm 118: 14-29
Revelation 1: 4-8
John 20: 19-31

One: We can not help but share news of the good things that have occurred.
All: Joy for our Lord’s return is on the tips of our tongues. How can we keep from singing?
One: We can not help but be bathed in the Peace of Christ.

One: This morning may we be witnesses to the risen Christ.

Combined Maundy Thursday and Good Friday Service?

Doing one service on Holy Thursday? I’ve had that restriction for several years. What I have done is splice the two together. Here’s an outline:
Maundy Thursday Call to Worship

MT hymn like “In an Upper Room Did Our Lord Prepare”

MT Call to, Prayer of Confession and Assurance of Pardon

MT Communion

Then start into the Good Friday Tenebrae service with the SHADOW OF BETRAYAL portion and follow to the end. Usually I cut down on the music and put some readings one after the other to help on time.
I hope this helps!  I’ve found it to be a decent substitute when the congregation says it will only come to one service.

Easter Morning C, March 27, 2016

There are many texts and alternates for the day, but the following are the ones I primarily used. All the choices are at the site these texts link to:
Isaiah 65: 17-25
Psalm 118: 1-3, 14-24
1 Corinthians 15: 19-26
John 20: 1-18

One: Could it be?
All: But the stone is out of place and the tomb empty.
One: What was prophesied is now true! Our Teacher has risen!
All: Mary has seen the Lord! Hallelujah!
One: Christ has risen!
All: He has risen, indeed!
