CALL TO WORSHIP
One: We gather today standing at our watchpost.
All: We run ahead and climb a tree to wait for the Lord.
One: We cry out, desperate to be noticed – to be heard.
All: You are righteous, O Lord, and your judgments are right.
One: Let is be attentive in our worship.
All: Let us worship God.

OPENING PRAYER
O Lord, we come before you today in search of the patience and nerve to wait for you and your will. We are nervous about our past and how you will change us. Yet we are here anyhow. Today help us catch sight of you, hear your words, and live into your righteous plans.

CALL TO CONFESSION
Be willing to meet the Lord wherever you need to go – even if it means running ahead to climb a tree and wait a good bit. Be ready to be seen as a sinner and be changed. Come and confess your sins.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Most merciful Savior, we have forgotten your words. We have busied ourselves with mundane tasks, selfish preferences and petty quarrels. We have not lived as you intended, and instead of putting you first we lose patience and put you last. We are lost sinners asking for your redemption. Please forgive us and help us be made new. Amen.

ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Wait for the Lord. Be strong; take heart. Your words are not spoken in vain, and your presence searching for the Savior is noted and honored. Today salvation has come to this place to seek out and save the lost. In the name of Jesus Christ you are forgiven. Now go and sin no more.
